Bridge from Past to Future: My Impressions of IEEE Balıkesir University Experience Transfer Camp

University years are not just about theoretical knowledge learned in classrooms; It is also shaped by the experience gained in the field, friendships established and responsibilities assumed. For me, this is the pinnacle of responsibility, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 period I carry out my duty with honor IEEE Balıkesir University Student Branch It was my years.

Recently, I attended a meeting organized by this long-established community of which I was once the director. "Experience Transfer Camp"na this time with a different hat, "Mentor" I had the chance to participate as. Years ago, when I was a student excitedly producing projects, it was an indescribable feeling for me to guide and share my experiences with my young friends who are experiencing that excitement today.

What is this Experience Transfer Camp?

This camp, organized by IEEE Balıkesir University Student Branch, is actually much more than a classic seminar series. It is a real "field rehearsal" spanning two days, where theory turns into practice and practice turns into a challenging simulation. The main purpose of the camp is; To ensure that the friends who will work in the club experience the difficulties and processes they will encounter in a safe area in advance.

Day 1: Business Cuisine and Strategy

The first day of the event was all about learning and strategizing. We, as mentors, tell the participants;

• How to prepare a project from scratch?
• What should be taken into consideration when creating a sponsorship file?
• What should the appointment processes and corporate communication language be like?

We made presentations on topics such as: But the process wasn't just about listening. We gave specific topics to the participants who were divided into teams. We asked them to create a creative project and a "salon event" in a limited time, with the materials they had (craft paper, computers, presentation tools).

Day 2: Big Simulation

The most exciting and instructive part was definitely the second day. Because here we simulated the difficulties of real life, rather than "pretending".

As mentors and former managers, we moved to the other side of the table and took on various roles:

• Mayor
• President of the Chamber of Industry
• Local Tradesman / Investor

The teams preparing their projects knocked on our door and tried to get sponsorship or support from us. Our goal in this simulation was to challenge them; We immediately observed the mistakes made when making an appointment, deficiencies in the persuasion process or their body language and gave feedback.

At the end of the day, we evaluated the projects as a jury. The best part was that some of the projects planned here on paper had the potential to turn into real events on our campus in the coming years.

A Thank You and Note to the Future

At the end of the event, the thank you plaque presented to me, dedicated to my presidency in the 2021-2022 period, was the most emotional moment of this camp for me. But the real reward is not that plaque; It was to witness the energy of young friends with determination to succeed in their eyes.

Those who contributed to this organization, kept this deep-rooted culture alive, and did not forget us and valued our experiences. IEEE Balıkesir University Student Branch I would like to thank his family and all my friends who participated.

Positions and duties are temporary; What is permanent are the traces you leave behind, the experiences you pass on and the generations you raise. I have full faith that the friends who take over the flag will achieve much better things.
