Touching the Technology of the Future: Bosch Electric Mobility Training and Technical Trip

In my career journey as a mechanical engineer, I have always seen it as one of my biggest goals not only to understand today's technologies but also to be a part of the innovations that will shape the future. That great transformation at the heart of the automotive world, that is, Electric Mobility (E-Mobility), is right at the center of this goal.

In the past period, I had the opportunity to put my passion in this field on a professional basis: Bosch Türkiye Application and Calibration I successfully completed the 5-week comprehensive "Electric Mobility Training Program" organized by the team.

A 5-Week Intensive Information Adventure

This program, which took place with the participation of 100 students from 37 different universities, was not just a superficial vision training; Rather, it was a technical journey that delved deep into the engine and the battery. During the training, we had the opportunity to examine the following critical issues in depth under the guidance of expert instructors:

• Application and Calibration in the Automotive Industry
• Electric Drive, Power Electronics and Control Fundamentals
• Electrical Machines and Compact Drive Module (eAxle) Fundamentals
• Charging Technologies and Infrastructure
• Functional Safety in Electromobility (BEV, MHEV, PHEV)
• High Voltage Storage and Cyber Security
• Introduction to Electric Vehicles and Architecture
• Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) and VCU Calibration for Electric Vehicles
• Basic Principles of Hybrid Systems and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV)
• After-Sales Operations for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles

Each of these titles further reinforced my passion for engineering and showed me once again what a complex yet exciting engineering marvel the future of automotive is.

Being One of 12 People in the Kitchen: Istanbul Technical Trip

The real surprise waiting for me at the end of the training process is that I was selected as a result of our performance. one in 12 students I was invited to Bosch's Istanbul office and into the kitchen of the business. This was truly an indescribable source of pride and happiness for me.

During the trip, I had the chance to personally observe the advanced technology R&D studies carried out in Bosch laboratories. It was a tremendous experience to see how the simulations and calibration data we only see on the screen resonate in the real world, and how Bosch's innovative vision takes shape within the walls of the laboratory.

Getting Inspired by Leaders

One of the most unforgettable aspects of this technical tour was being able to touch not only the technology but also the visionary leaders who manage that technology. during the day Mr. Daniel Korioth, President of Bosch Türkiye and Middle East I had the privilege of spending time with him and being inspired by his valuable opinions and sectoral experiences.

Likewise, Vice President of Automotive Technology and Original Equipment Sales, Mr. Gökhan Tunçdöken, Application and Calibration Team Leader Mr. Ozgul Gedikli and Senior Systems Engineer / Electric Vehicle Projects Team Leader Mr. Tuncer Uysal Meeting with was eye-opening in terms of my career vision.

Towards the Future...

When I look back today, I see that this 5-week adventure and the technical trip that followed were much more than a training. This was an opportunity to understand the effort, vision and engineering discipline behind the motto "Invented for life".

I would like to sincerely thank our trainers, the Bosch Application and Calibration team, and all Bosch Türkiye employees who provided me with this unique opportunity and did not spare their experience. I will continue to learn, produce and contribute to the technologies of the future.
